After years of declines, automotive thefts seem like surging in cities and suburbs everywhere in the nation. The spree, which has been exacerbated by the pandemic, doesn’t seem like the work of refined crime rings, police say. As a substitute, this new wave of automotive thefts appears to stem from a mixture of straightforward carelessness and the identical technological development that after made stealing automobiles almost inconceivable: the important thing fob.
